Small Estate Affidavits
Special Master Hon. Richard A. Levie (Ret.) has approved the use of small estate affidavits, Special Master Order No. 1 dated July 16, 2013, in certain states to allow for expedited distribution of payments to Class Member estates. The rules differ from state to state, and small estate affidavits will not be applicable in every circumstance. If using one of the state forms, please review all instructions and legal consequences. In some cases you may have to get court approval or file with the county recorder's office. If you have any questions about filing a small estate affidavit, you may want to contact an attorney.
Below is a list of the states for which small estate affidavits have been approved by the Special Master to date, along with links to samples of affidavits for each state.
